Welcome Mercury Mosaics!

We are pleased to introduce our newest line of art tiles, Mercury Mosaics. We saw them at the tile show last Spring and it was love at first sight. Their colors are rich and vibrant and their designs are inspired.

They showed us their willingness to do custom projects from the very beginning. When we ordered our concept boards for the showroom we began designing our own and they were more than happy to oblige - in fact, they weren't just happy, they were excited! We even challenged them to come up with a 3-dimensional tile that is not currently in their selection - they came back to us with "we can do that!"

We are very excited to have them as a part of the Antique Floors family and look forward to working with them in the future! Come by the showroom and see it for yourself - pictures don't do it justice!

Spotlight: BonTon

We are very excited to welcome Bon Ton Designs to our family. Bon Ton (Fr.) means "fashionable or elegant manner or style. Something regarded as fashionably correct."

If you are looking for Art Nouveau, Art Deco, or Arts and Crafts, the artisans at Bon Ton can execute it beautifully. Located in Minnesota, the tiles and the glazes are hand crafted to give each tile its own distinct personality.

Bon Ton specializes in kitchen backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, entryways, facades, and tile restorations. With their 20 years of experience, they can take any job, large or small, and create the look and feel that you want.

Do you have a design you need to replicate for a restoration? They will do custom work as well! They have a staff of master sculptors on hand willing and able to create whatever you need.

The pictures above don't do justice to the colors - they are very beautiful, bright, and vibrant! You can see some of our concept boards below and check out everything else they can do by visiting the gallery on their website.

You are limited only by your imagination!

Oceanside Glasstile Seminar

Steven & Deena at Mexico Factory

Steven, Mary (inside sales rep), & Deena

Steven, Thom (outside sales rep), & Deena

Deena and I spent this past weekend in San Diego learning as much as possible about Oceanside glass. We arrived Thursday and relaxed before our great adventure began the next morning. The theme this year was "The Glass Crusade: In Search of the Crystal Skull." Everything - and I mean everything - was geared toward an Indiana Jones theme.

Friday morning we registered and found our team. We were Team Willie, named after a character in "The Temple of Doom." Breakfast was spent getting to know our other team members and leaders before climbing on buses and heading to Tijuana. OGT built a brand new factory in Mexico a couple of years ago and we were off to tour it. We spent the day at the factory, which was beautiful, clean, and organized. Afterward, we jumped on the buses and headed back across the border for dinner at a San Diego park.

Saturday morning we got an early start and went to the headquarters located in Carlsbad. We spent the day there doing various workshops about green design, design concepts, and installation - yes, we installed sheets of Tessera on a vertical surface! Amazingly, it's very easy if you follow the directions to a T.

Saturday evening was our final night together and the guys at Oceanside know how to throw a party. We had appetizers, cocktails, and dinner on the beach under a full moon followed by dancing and a guest performance by "Slump" - made up of Oceanside employees and executives. While some of their songs are about tile, most are pretty good covers.

All in all it was a very informative and enjoyable weekend. We're both looking forward to going again!
